I work in accommodation on SSW (i) and found a better offer from another hotel. What paperwork is needed to switch employers, and can I keep working during the process?

    Yes, you can change employers within the same field (or another field if you pass its tests).

    1. Sign the new contract; the new employer prepares a support plan.
    2. Apply for a change of status of residence (在留資格変更許可申請), because your permission names your employer.
    3. You cannot start work at the new company until it is approved.
    4. Report the end of your old contract to Immigration within 14 days.
